Why hello there!
It's been forever since I've been to mailfriends. I mean forever. Those that I made friends with a year ago probably forgot about me. Then again, who could blame them?
I'm just moved to a new city with a new job and a new life. I'm now three hours drive away from my family, and I miss them terribly. However, I'm not going to return. There's nothing for me down there. All the jobs are taken. Those that aren't pay little, and I have student loans that I'm repaying. So I moved. Moved to a place where people are ruder, pushy, and just plain mean. I have yet to find friends in my area, and those at my work are keeping a fair distance from me as if I'm an alien from another galaxy.
Life isn't that bad though. I'm living on my own without my parents' help. My boyfriend is my constant companion here. My apartment is HUGE with room for all my books. I can keep my love for books and pay for more when the time comes...and I actually have time to read now. It's great. I just wish I had human contact every once in a while.
It's a new year! I can't believe it! I'm graduated from college, on my own, and have a great job as a veterinary nurse. How can I ever be down? Easy. I won't explain it all. No one wants to hear about it since everyone is having hard times. I understand that. The economy here sucks and we don't know what's going to happen in the near future. The unemployment rates are sky-rocketing, what if we lose our secured jobs soon? Oh, and the environment is going to hell-in-a-hand-basket. I am not a strict environmentalist. I won't join Sea Shepards on their next journey to the Southern Ocean, persuading the Japanese to stop whaling for research and market, but I don't want to see everything that nature provides disappear. Ok, so I could join the Sea Shepards...I just couldn't go strictly vegan or die for a cause. Not just yet. I'm too much of a coward.
So here I am. Back on mailfriends and I'm looking to meet people who are willing to talk to me about more than just the weather. Perhaps I won't find that, but I am going to try.

Hi, it has been three days so far although I have had a handful of responses, not what I am looking for as yet. who knows how the winds will change though. Its getting busy with my teaching as well and I am hoping that everything falls into place nicely. I am planning to travel this year to faraway countries and am looking to make new friends before I venture forth. I want to see places Ive only read about before. I hope that I can do this and also continue my quest for fun and new adventures. Enjoy yourselves people and have a good time what ever you do.

I am now working on China, Australia, Ireland, some parts of Europe, and most of Asia. I traveled alone and it was amazing.
