No I wouldn't say it was a popularity contest. I also voted the same way as Zoom. From the posts you can tell rather a lot. I think the posts of the candidates where, in fact, like a "qualification". Surely that's the point, how they moderate and post on the site.

The voting machinery in here is just a smaller scale, hence less formal, of a normal voting system. The candidates must be known or they have to make themselves known to the public. Is the American president election not going in such a manner? That is popularise himself in order to demonstrate his "qualifications" and give promises to the public? People vote for him because they like him?!

The nominees on this site are known by the community via their activities and correspondence.

I believe voters agree with me that the winners have, through time, showed enough qualifications.

We cant know about background story if admin doesnt enlighten us why nominees werent considered equal by admin. Is there a deal behind PMs? Obaraten left site after this topic was opened, could it be related with an 'unfair' result?

Nothing unfair about it at all! If Obaraten chooses to spit the dummy, then so be it!

He did congratulate the successful applicants before leaving, so who knows!

Besides, Rock Hunter outstripped Obaraten in the number 1 vote department with Obaraten playing second fiddle to both Maranello and Rock Hunter in most members votes.

One does not need a degree to understand why Rock Hunter pipped Obaraten at the finishing post!

Obaraten has more 2nds than rock hunter. ( 12 - 5 ) TWO comes before THREE.


How do you know how many 2nd place equal to 1st place? Has admin ever mentioned how to calculate preferences? Nope.


Admin will appoint whoever in her mind whatever maths say. Why Obaraten left and what he didnt want to talk about on channel is clear.

Of course it was a popularity contest. Only difference is the change in the format and the rush job of it all compared to last time. Last time there was a topic to discuss the candidates. This time ANY discussion was met with threats and bans. Now I would say Rock Hunter is qualified. He can think and do. Maranello...not so much. ANd of those on the board before the vote, there is no honesty at all. TIme to tear down their little wall and show what the hell is going on in there. Or at the very least come out and address their dishonesty and outright lies to this site. There was a time when qualified people were on the board. No more. And qualified for the board isn't that hard a thing, but now severely lacking. Honesty, The ability to separate business from friendships, Judgement, and common sense. There is NONE of any of that now left on the board.

The math spells it out clearly. But yes, you are correct. Sarah had her eye on the winners ahead of time. That is why it was all cobbled together. Nothing stated in advance. Votes closed when proper conclusion reached. Restricting campaigning. Restricted nominations. All designed for a specific outcome.

O scored 4 first preference votes.....4 firsts, therefore RH was the members first choice (of course Maranello scored the most first preference votes......17 firsts )
Now if I were a betting man and my horse came in first, I'd be bloody chuffed if the bookie only paid out on the second and third horses.
The competitors at the Winter Olympics will be pretty pissed if those that keep coming second score the gold medals!
Talk all the bullshit you like about Admin, but at the end of the day, Rock Hunter won his position on the modboard fair and square with 11 FIRST PREFERENCE VOTES.

This is crap. Nominees arent horses, this isnt a running race of horses. Pity if they were assumed so by admin.
That's a democratic election that we supposed it before this happened. There is no way for both horses to collect equal points. Dıfferent than situation here. This election had way for having same points and admin appointed nominee of her mind as modboard without explanation her way to participants.


This isnt Olympic Games either. There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners in O.G so all those competitors' points are always DIFFERENT.


It's different here, both nominees had equal votes. One of them became more 1st, second one became more 2nd position. Both of their votes are EQUAL in all way.


I voted him for 3rd preference because i thought he fits there. He had equal votes anyway and admin didnt explain anything about election. All participants are fooled, there wont be another.

Obaraten left the site after decision of admin so nothing left to argue anymore. You can play your theather all you like in ballot box next time.

Not that I was counting votes or anything but I was under the impression the the scoring system was something like this:

1st choice = 3 points
2nd choice = 2 points
3rd choice = 1 point.

So that would mean Rock Hunter would have had more points than Obaraten. I don't know what scoring format they used though.

You were under impression? Have admin left this impression? How did she leave it? How do you have impression? Why scoring system wasnt mentioned? There is NO system stated.

Educational system is :

AA - 4.00 points

BA - 3.5 points

BB - 3.0 points

CB - 2.5 points

CC - 2.25 points

DD - 2.00 points (you fail your exam)

Do you see the difference between CB and CC? It's 0.25 when it's 0.5 between others. your 1st-2nd-3rd are all 1 points difference. Why not 1st 3 points, 2nd more than 2 points? There is nothing said about scoring system.

It is already weird there would be 2 modboard members but 3 preferences to vote. Waste of time.
