Apparently, her father and grandfather put her in six foot deep grave and covered her up alive. The police found her body.

What should be done when a 16 year girl talks to boys?

Sounds like the father could have some kind of mental illness to do something like that. To feel absolutely nothing while doing something so sinister over something so unimportant has all the signs of a psychopathic mind.

maletestesteron | 7 February 2010 - 12:46pm

"when the cat left home ,mice begans belly dance on the table ..." Then father, mothers all parent have to learn that if their girl would like to be with a boy she can do it ! so no matter if you angry or not ! Just parents must learn they can stoped nothing by make fear ! and they must learn respect...when they learn and do these with their all heart they will she their girl will be very very better !and of course happy ! so why ??!!! why they are doing wrong method and make their child sad ...

Hope it get change soon !

Greetings to all....

SICKO. Poor girl had a life to live.

malenitrojen | 7 February 2010 - 5:42pm

sometimes this makes me think about if death penaly hadnt been abolished in 2002 for such ruthless murders.
crime has been committed not only by her grossly uneducated father but also by her grandfather. later explained that it wasnt ''talking to boys'' subject, was family violence by uneducated so called father and grandfather when girl reported police about her grandfather's gun.

every murder is a crime, there are more perverted and psychopatic ones in countries like usa and uk if you would like to not to ignore.

Father murdered his wife and 13-week-old daughter 'because she wasn't born a boy'. USA

Father murders daughter pregnant with his child. USA

Father rapes, murders daughter

Three points, @ nitrojen:

1.The authorities do not ignore or typically grant leniency to such cases as you point at, and when they do, a big fuss is made. Judges have been kicked from the bench for such. In short, it's not tolerated. Americans don't get offended that people point out crime--they aim to put a stop to the crime.

2.Pointing fingers at others who commit crimes is not a valid defense for criminal activity.

3.Murders in USA or elsewhere are not the topic of this thread. If you feel you have to defend honor killings, go for it, but you'll need to stay on point.

Having said that, please explain why it is so despicable to you that people--anybody, whether Turkish or not--condemn this action, committed with such frequency across the world. Are you aware that a human in such a condition as she was breathes in heavily in an attempt to get breath--it's instinctive and probably can't be stopped--thus breathing in soil to the lungs. Can you imagine the terror? Can you believe that any person--let alone so many across the world--could do such a thing to their own child? And that it's been done to children as young as eight (that's the lowest age I know, there may be more)?

And can you believe, that people care more about their pride than they do these poor victims?

Hard to admit you are in that last category, perhaps, but that is exactly what you are doing. When will you admit to yourself that your denials do nothing to stop thise events, in fact only encourage them?

* americans get quite offended easily when their crimes are pointed out.

* do you mean crime is tolerated in Turkiye? those bitches called father and grandfather are arrested and will get jailed soon. unfortunate thing is, there is no death penalty here. i've never thought i could defend barbarism of death penalty one day.

chana_batata wrote:

yes, and it has nothing to do with our debate.

you know intention of author, it's same as yours. there are murder cases happening everywhere, i read everyday, happening in Turkiye and in your country. i just dont get bizarre intention of filling channel with murder news. thousands of people are being killed across the world. aw, i know you mean ''it is tolerated in Turkiye''? where is the tolerance? ARREST comes right after murder in here unlike your imagination.

you mean ''murder in -Turkiye-'' is topic of this thread? second thing, there is no defense. you dont want mistakes be corrected that it wasnt honor killing cause it feeds your agenda (this happened in your twisted ''Turkish twins'' topic. lacking of evidence.

you can read the reason of murder from here in Turkish. ''i dont know Turkish'' isnt valid to not to hear the truths by others whose native language is Turkish.

there can be no condone given about what has been done but.. what about your mistake that has just been corrected?

please show my denial of this murder. murder has ''happened'' and reason of it is in accounts of above link. anyone who still thinks this was a honor killing has been proven liar. so, where is the denial?

why it's hard to touch on sick mentalities like this one: Father murdered his wife and 13-week-old daughter 'because she wasn't born a boy'. USA. it's as sick as honor killings. although this one in news isnt one. yeah i could fill channels with murder news stuck on psychopathic mentalities.

that's why i'm here. i always find some topics suspicious coming from same people, and thankfully i'm glad that i correct most of them. i dont understand why some people get offended when their agenda is knocked down.

chana_batata wrote:

when you call or e-mail Turkish authorities and ask for max punishment or explain how vile this murder sounds to a foreigner, you will have done something better. is it too hard if you want to help some people?

Sorry but your above is nothing more than the same crude commentary about how it isn't to be discussed because it happens in Turkey (or Egypt, or KSA, etc.) Or God forbid, it's a Muslim phenomenom, and we are "racists" is we bring up the topic? You are the only one here fixating on that she was Turkish.

What you don't seem to get is that people who act out these crimes, and those who support them, will fixate on ANYthing, no matter how small, in order to keep what they have--and that's what distractions about "racism" or other perceived offenses against Turks, Muslims, etc. (via the condemnation of honor killing) provide. Others start to dislike certain groups for their tolerance of such acts, not, as you want so badly to believe, because they are somehow unenlightened creatures who can't respect other cultures.

You can bring up American or other murders all you want, and one thing you will NOT see is wholesale justification of them. So try again, please.

Like it or not, you are going to have to LET GO of the thin skinned accusations about how the world is picking on you because you are Turkish or Muslim or whatever. If you want them to stop, attack HONOR KILLINGS, and do it FULLY. Don't waste time on unrelated instances that have nothing to do with honor killing.

I find it so sad and barbaric that people are taught these lessons in the first place, and worse, even that many of those opposed to honor killings are so hung up on "picking on [fill in nationality/religion]" to focus on the real problem.

Nitrojen, he BURIED HIS CHILD ALIVE. She breathed in earth in desperation to live. She was terrified no doubt. What was her crime? She talked to a boy..? Nitrojen, he buried her alive. You disgrace her by focusing on her nationality--and yes YOU are focusing. Give her some justice, she is a human being who deserves better than that.

eventually wherever she's from isnt important, if you brought a crime from usa, i would give a reaction. but you never bring some things from there, maybe it's because no stupid crime is committed over there?

there is no people supporting those criminals, they have aroused hatred in even their own village. it is one of the DAILY UPDATED agenda in Turkish media nowadays. saying those criminals have supporters while there is no support, is obviously a lie. if you mean honor killings have supporters, there you'd be right. but incident isnt about honor killing unlike you are talking as if it's honor killing.

murder of lil girl disturbs me as much as you want to say it disturbs you. there's something bias media isnt aware of also. she didnt have a photo in her entire life. so there is no photo of herself, only drawing by police upon how she was said to looked like, by her mother.

Quote:

you also dont see someone justifying acts of criminals here when it's about Turks.

i just correct things. when you say ''mexican ballerinas are beheading people for fun and having ballet around heads'' i will be right there correcting as ''drug dealers are doing it and playing football with heads''. as the truth is second one.

Quote:

as i said, your agenda doesnt allow you find the truth. i have proved that isnt honor killing, there is no cover. when you want to view my opinions about honor killings, please invite me a honor killings topic that has a true story.

are you really serious when you (in real or fake emotions) are blaming me defending it? that's a serious unblanced accusation.

i gave an original source you reject it, i can give ten others from local or famous Turkish newspapers if you wish. this is a crime but not a honor killing unlike it's trying to be said to people. it has been said honor killing when fresh news have come, it has been corrected later that incident happened when victim had reported her grandfather to the police about his gun.
i correct this knowing false news too. i dont know why some media is trying to mislead people but that's no matter since it can be modified here. i correct news with an updated source, you give misleading news a pass. maybe to give a bad name to a country?

Unfortunately, every country has scumbags and no one argues that. This story is big news right now because of the horror everyone has of being buried alive, and because of the trivial offense that caused it. I think the article indicated that she had spoken to 2 boys.

Get over going ballistic any time something negative is posted about real events that are happening your country.

Pithy. I love it.

That's exactly the distraction that keeps it going, even some people can't bear but to go for the knee-jerk reaction.

The Turkish government has been working hard to stamp out these kinds of things, but when you have ethnic minorities wanting more autonomy from the controlling government, there is a tendency for the government to find it more difficult to have these groups abide by new laws put in place by the very authority they are wanting to escape from.

Needless to say, the people involved are in custody awaiting trial.

It is a poor excuse for Turks to dismiss such depravities as being Kurd since Kurds has have been part of Turkey for generations. They are Turkish citizens and the responibility rests with the Turks. If you do not accept Kurds as Turks, then let them break away and form their own country.

Honestly it's not a poor excuse.
When there are good things Kurdish citizens are quick to claim "freedom" or voice democracy discourses.. so why not take responsibility here?

on topic: This iş indeed a disgrace for us.. I agree it(honour) is a big socioeconomic problem but it is also filled with ethnic issues. It MUST be solved by involving a very good planning ,starting from land reform.

Also don't act as if you know something on the issue.. Not all Kurdish citizens demand a new country..

Unless Turkey allows the Kurds independence then they are Turks. Are not Turks able to enforce its own laws in SE Turkey and run a progressive education system there?

Good point.
And without knowing the detalis, most of the foreigners easily attack..

The answer is NO. I can wrtie you are 100 pages dissertation on Why it's not happening.

In the last 30 years, the terror clearly prevented this to happen. But it's not that linear.

People think they know a lot about a country from looking outside..
Do you know feodalism? or ever heard something called land reform?

Although an abstract, this will give u an insight.

why?

For various reasons... one being terror. but that's not all about it. So Turkey cannot govern its regions is a bit of an overstatement..
